Of course … our conscience knows exactly what we need to do to maintain a constant weight that is good for our mental and physical health! We know that we need to eat better, in reasonable quantities, and move more. More sport, more healthy food, less sugar, fat and alcohol. So simple…. But that’s forgetting that our unconscious plays tricks on us and that it’s the unconscious that guides our (bad) habits.
Hypnosis is an increasingly recognized and proven approach to helping people on their weight-loss journey. By acting on the unconscious mind, hypnosis can help modify eating behaviors, boost motivation and establish a healthier relationship with food. Using deep relaxation and suggestion techniques, people can develop greater awareness of their eating habits and learn to manage their emotions without resorting to food.
However, hypnosis should not be considered as a direct treatment for serious eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. These conditions require specialized treatment and appropriate medical follow-up. Hypnosis can nevertheless be a useful adjunct to a broader therapeutic framework, helping people to boost their self-esteem and adopt more positive eating behaviors.

A healthy mind in a healthy body
I’ve been dieting since I was 15. Every 3 years, it was 8 kilos more and then 8 kilos less. A constant yo-yo! The 3 hypnosis sessions enabled me to lose 5 kilos and better manage the reasons that lead me to gain weight each time. I love it!
I’ve wanted to have a gastrectomy for quite some time, but I’m afraid of the operation. Discovering this method, I followed 8 sessions to prepare and put on the virtual gastric band (VGB) without going on the real operating table. I’ve lost 18 kg so far… there’s still more to do, but I’m on the right track.
Let’s face it: hypnosis sessions and not changing your eating habits or exercising won’t make you lose weight. I wasn’t really convinced at first. I had my doubts about the effectiveness of hypnosis. As the sessions progressed, something changed. I began to feel that my hunger was different, less compulsive. I no longer had that constant urge to snack or eat out of emotion. I also began to choose healthier foods without even thinking about it, and to appreciate small portions. It wasn’t an effort, but a natural change in my way of thinking.

Losing weight is difficult because of complex biological, psychological and environmental factors. Menopause, pregnancy, stress, lack of sleep: the body resists change by slowing metabolism and altering the hormones linked to hunger, which can make weight loss slower over time. Eating habits, often influenced by emotions such as stress, also play an important role, making it difficult to manage cravings. In addition, restrictive diets can provoke cravings and lead to cycles of weight gain and loss, known as the yo-yo effect. The environment, lack of sleep and stress can also interfere with our efforts. So, a sustainable approach to weight loss requires a holistic change in eating habits, exercise, stress and emotional management, not quick fixes.
Hypnotic gastric banding
Hypnotic gastric banding is an innovative, non-invasive approach that uses hypnosis to help people lose weight. It’s a procedure that’s not recommended for everyone: it’s particularly aimed at people who have a minimum of 10 kg to lose and a high BMI (>35), as is the case with real gastric banding. This process relies on suggestion and visualization to create changes in the way a person perceives food, satiety and eating behaviors. Unlike a real surgical gastric band, hypnotic gastric banding does not physically alter the stomach, but aims to simulate the effect of feeling “early satiety”, as if the stomach were smaller. This allows the person to feel full more quickly and reduce the amount of food ingested without resorting to draconian dieting.
The idea behind this method is to work directly with the unconscious mind to install healthier eating habits, modify food cravings and reinforce motivation to adopt a more balanced lifestyle. During hypnosis sessions, I guide you into a state of deep relaxation, where you are more receptive to suggestions. These suggestions may include the idea that the stomach is shrinking, that portions need to be smaller, or even that certain foods are no longer as appealing.
Hypnotic gastric banding is a gentle approach that can help some people break free from harmful eating habits and take control of their weight. However, as with any weight-loss method, it is essential to consult a qualified professional and to use it as part of a holistic approach to health.

How the sessions work to restore lightness
Session 1
We meet for about 1h30. The session takes the form of a discussion. There are questionnaires, a motivational test, analysis of your eating habits, weighing (yes…), BMI calculation, your history with food, your habits, your activities… All this helps to define your goals and desires. We end the session with hypnotic suggestions and some homework.
Session 2 (after 2 to 3 weeks)
During this one-hour session, we analyze your progress since the first session: weighing, analysis of your eating chart, difficulties and changes in your habits. The hypnosis session will include suggestions about your relationship to food, your personal history and your relationship to your body.
Session 3 (after 2 or 3 weeks)
This is another one-hour session with the same elements as the second session: discussions, weighing, analysis of eating and physical behavior. Hypnotic suggestions are followed by self-hypnosis exercises that you can practice at home.
Session 4 (after 3 weeks)
Our last appointment! You’re on the right track and have already lost quite a bit of weight. You’re following the weight-loss curve you set for yourself, and your view of yourself is starting to change. You’re doing great. Now it’s up to you!
